Appearance:

Now a fully grown lioness, Nala has the grace and beauty of a princess, and the strength of the huntress she is. Her creamy coat is similar to her mother’s, with tanned outer fur and a lighter muzzle and underside. Her blue-green eyes are highlighted with light fur, though her tail is tipped with dark brown. Her nose is a dark pink color, though she has no other distinguishing markings. She’s of average size for a lioness her age, fit though growing slimmer with the rest of her pride as their resources dwindle.

Personality:

Before the reign of Scar, Nala was a bright young cub with confidence and sass, ready to find adventure so long as it was alongside her friends. She’s smart and strong, able to concoct plans and get out of sticky situations. When Mufasa and Simba were said to have died in a stampede, Nala mourned the loss of her king and best friend deeply. But as a cub, she still managed to bounce back and keep her chin up to continue living with the rest of the pride -- the king and prince would’ve wanted that. The confidence and cheer than came with youth slowly disappeared as the Pridelander’s situation got worse. While still fun-loving, the reign of Scar has made fun a luxury. Nala is more serious now, the only trouble she gets into over matters of food and water, and quietly opposing Scar’s rule with many of the other lionesses. A strong and graceful lioness, Nala is a capable huntress and is confident she will be able to make it through anything, should she put her mind to it. However, the state of the Pridelands are getting worse, and Nala is growing increasingly desperate and concerned.

Still, Nala has always been a sweet lioness, ready to befriend most anyone and always willing to help her friends. Despite this she is a fierce lioness, protective of those close to her, and isn’t afraid to be blunt when need be, using both her mind and strength to do what needs to be done, regardless of the dangers of the situation.

History:
Betrothed to Simba, the prince of the Pridelands, at an early age, Nala’s life seemed to be full of potential. While the idea of marrying her best friend was disgusting as a cub, it didn’t affect the adventures the two got into with each other and some other cubs along the way. While never wanting to disappoint her mother, Sarafina, Nala still managed to get into trouble with Simba’s adventures. Her life as a cub was simple, fun, and she never thought she’d have much to be concerned about in the Pridelands.

With the death of Mufasa and Simba, however, that all changed. While Nala still held onto the fun-loving, happy ways of her youth, she had to grow up quickly. With the reign of Scar and the hyenas invading her home, Nala had to learn how to survive in her own Pridelands, and did so quickly. At first the idea of Scar ascending to the throne was of little importance to the cub, but as time passed and she grew up while the Pridelands suffered, Nala realized their situation was bad and only getting worse. Scar was a foolish king, more infatuated with the idea of power and immortality than the actual responsibilities of a king. She saw the threat Scar and his continued leadership posed to the land and her family, and joined the other lionesses with their low opinion of the male. He continues to blame them for the lack of food, frustrating Nala and the others with his inability to see his own failings.

This only grew when Scar decided he needed to find mothers of his cubs, turning to his pride as well as any neighboring ones. Nala has managed to avoid this fate so far, though her mother did not. While Nala cares for her half-brother, as how he was born was not his fault, Nala finds the whole ordeal disgusting.

As their situation worsens, Nala and the other lionesses strive to find food, while quietly, trying to find a way to overthrow the selfish monarch. Nala can only think of her deceased best friend, the late prince, who could have saved them as the rightful king, if only he had survived the stampede.
