Appearance: Dyota has a build that suggests she was be of average but lithe stature as she grows. At the moment, her paws are a little too large for the normal for some reason, but other than that she has a fairly normal looking build. She takes after her mother in one way, with the fact that she has the violet eyes of Duara. She looks mostly like her father with her colouring, with a light brown coat and a darker coloured undercoat. Her eyeshades are all the same colour, a light peach mixed with brown. Her nose is a plum purple colour, and her tongue a dark shade of pink. The tuft at the end of her tail is dark brown and matches the padding of her paws. Her paws themselves are the same colour as her undercoat and her muzzle.

Personality: Dyota is a playful young lioness who all know to be sweet-hearted but cheeky at times. Throughout her cubhood, she will be known as a trouble-maker, but her sweet talk and the way she finds lies every so easy to fabricate and tell others will definitely ensure that she is not given the status 'trouble maker' though she is definitely one. She is cheeky towards her parents, though still has much respect for them but is completely weird around her sisters, Nyima and Wiana whom she feels comfortable being her normal, insane, cheeky, playful, pranking self around.

Dyota has no problem with being her cheeky self, but she is slightly less good at being loving and caring. As she grows, a part of her becomes mis-trustful for reasons that are obvious - those who know her cannot trust her, and she believes that everyone tells as many lies as she does, therefore her trust resides in only her immediate family. Even her Pride she is mistrustful of, and she also prefers the company of few rather than money.

History: Duara was born the first child to Tova and Nenne, for they had much trouble with creating child beforehand. She came as a welcome relief, and Duara lived the years as an only child, which was a rarity among the lions but she did not mind. Duara's childhood friend who she cares for deeply was Nyota, and when her friend, or as she prefers to call her, sister, suffered form loss, so did Duara. Growing up, Duara was raised to be kind, gentle, loyal and always protect those you love. Her father was slightly on the strict side, so he was constantly training and scolding her for wanting to play with a butterfly instead of practicing her movements. It is from her father she learned discipline and skills in fighting, and from her mother she learnt gentleness, loyal and the gift of being kind. When Nyota lost her family, Duara lost her own, including a mother who was with child. It was emotionally crushing for Duara, and it is where she found her vicious protection of one's she loved, for she vowed that never again would anyone touch those that she cared about. At least two paragraphs here, if applying for a cub you can include the history of the parents in order to gain length.

Nyota is the only daughter of the former rulers of the Lowlands; born third in line for the throne, she never expected to be the queen. She had two older brothers who were strong, both two years older than little Nyota who would someday have made great kings. But the Lowlands had enemies, and at the time, they were constantly at war. There was a band of marauding bullies, led by a lion called Usiku, who challenged Akili for the throne. Nyota was still a cub when her brother Ajabu was killed by an assassin. Blinded by rage, her father Akili vowed revenge, and would not rest until Usiku and his entire pride were destroyed. Young Nyota's upbringing was strict, even though her parents never presumed she'd be anything more than a princess, she was taught to respect the land of her ancestors, and from childhood, understood the importance of being fair and truthful. Both mother and father cherished their daughter, their little "star" (which is what her name means in Swahili). But the eternal threat of war and death did not make for a charmed life for the Lowlanders. During a battle, both of her parents were killed. Nyota was still an adolescent at this time, nearing adulthood, but the pain of losing her father and mother was overwhelming. Her brother Nusuru became the king, and he set out to avenge the deaths of his family. Nearly the entire royal clan had been murdered. In the ensuing fight, Nusuru was able to kill their enemy and thus protect the kingdom from further war, but he was injured badly and died from massive blood loss days later. There was no one left to claim the throne but Nyota, and though she was young, she was level headed and quickly proved to most of her fellow jungle cats that she was worthy of ruling. She has tried to ignore the trauma of her past, but realized that without a king, the jungle territories would be considered prime real estate for any headstrong rogues who might discover the situation. The threat of losing the Lowlands is very real, and leaves for little time for relaxation. After so many years of war, Nyota barely knows how to relax, anyway. While it is a difficult role, she has embraced it whole heartedly and seeks to honor the memory of her family by being a good and just queen.
