Appearance: Kirabo has inherited his father's light golden coat, and in comparison to the shadowed lands he calls home, he is a bright spot of abounding energy. He is often only a blur of yellow in the gray kingdom, for his energy is limitless and he finds it impossible to keep still. He has a pair of spots beneath his eye, of which he is very proud because they remind him of his mother. His eyes are a deep forest green, much like his mother's. As an infant, he will have no mane at all. As he grows from a cub to adolescence, a brown tuft will sprout and grow into a short, shaggy mane, in a similar style to his father's. Both of his parents are slightly smaller than the typical lion and lioness, and Kirabo will reflect this, always being a head shorter than others his age. He may not be as tall as the average male, but Kibo is still strong, almost stocky in build. His nose is salmon colored. Dark brown rims shade his ears and encircle his eyes, a sharp contrast from his light coat.

Personality: Like his father before him, Kibo has no desire to lead the pride in the future. He is content to follow, though a desire to travel will sprout and grow as he ages. Always helpful, Kibo is willing to lend a paw to anyone who needs it, and he will do so with a cheerful attitude. He is carefree and relaxed, never taking himself or others too seriously. When others are feeling down, you can count on Kibo to step in and comfort in any way he can, whether through jokes or distractions or unabashed affection. As a cub, he is sweet and innocent. The usual restlessness that accompanies maturity in an older lion will be unavoidable for Kirabo, but he is deeply loyal to his father and his mother especially.

History: Both of Kirabo's parents were once rogues. Abuto was an outcast from her natal pride, judged and ostracized for the spots that failed to fade as she aged. Ni is now the king of the Shadowlands after his elder brother's untimely passing, but the golden lion is not thrilled with his position. He has accepted the responsibility reluctantly. Ni and Abuto adopted a pair of abandoned cubs to raise as their own, and soon found that their friendship had developed into something much greater. The Shadowlands were not lacking in the love found there.

Tragedy struck the growing family shortly following the birth of the royal couple’s first litter. Two of the three cubs were stolen on the command of Queen Zira, Scar's mate, in an attempt to pass the healthy cubs off as the evil king's offspring. The cub that remained was the smallest, and he was named Kirabo. His lost brother and sister would soon find themselves exiled to the Outlands, far from the kingdom where they were born but never forgotten by their heartbroken parents.

Kirabo will remain unaware that his beloved older brothers Kiasi and Makosa are in fact adopted, especially since they look a good deal like his parents. He looks up them, as well as many of the other cubs of the Shadowlands pride, and is the classic little brother: tagging along on adventures, trying to keep up with the big kids.
