Khepri Gender: Female
Age: 3 years
Species: Lion
Pride: Rogue - working for Scar (loyal to none)
Rank: Adult (spy)
Appearance:Khepri has a toffee-colored coat with a creamy underbelly and muzzle, with small tufts of hair on her cheeks. Her black claws tend to stay out unless she’s trying to keep up appearances, always wanting to feel ready to attack so never to leave herself vulnerable again. Her tail tuft is a dark brown to match the line marking down her head and neck, tapering off at her shoulders. Her body is made up of more harsh angles, though she is lithe and muscular. Somewhat smaller than the average lioness, Khepri doesn’t let that matter, her personality and physical ability making up for it. She is more likely to outsmart her opponent, but her quickness and strength of body and mind should not be taken lightly, else she will most certainly use that against you.
Her eyes are rimmed on top with a similar dark brown reddish color on top, but a creamy bottom. Her eyes are lighter, giving her occasional headaches. Her body is littered with small scars that are usually hard to notice unless one is very close, though most notably the small chunk ripped from her right ear.
Personality:Growing up in a difficult environment, the best word to describe Khepri is harsh. She is reserved and calculating, but does have the tendency to snap and lash out aggressively in both words and action. She is highly suspicious of everyone around her, assuming the worst of most every situation so she will be prepared for such an outcome. Khepri is very self-centered in that she looks out for herself, trusts only herself, and therefore does what she needs to do for her own survival, whatever that entails. She can be helpful, and she knows how to work in a group, but she is always careful around others. She doesn’t really understand the concept of “friends,” and does most everything for her own motives. She can be nice if need be, but rarely sees the need to nor anyone deserving of her kindness. Khepri is very capable at any task you put on her -- even cub watching, though she would more likely scare the cubs and teach them cruel survival techniques.
Her lust for vengeance has slowly been growing in her for a year now, eating away at her mind. Some could consider her somewhat unstable mentally, as she’s growing more obsessive to find the lion who killed her mother and raped her, so most stay away from Khepri -- but she doesn’t care. She doesn’t feel the need to have friends and doesn’t expect it. However, Khepri is a good actress, able to play the part of most anything required by her -- but, if she is made angry, her character can easily break as she lashes out instinctively.
Family: Mother - deceased, Father - missing, Brother -- missing
History: Khepri was born into a small, violent nomad pride which lingered around the boarders of the Outlands and Desertlands. Life from the start was difficult and tense, being born to a large litter which only her and her brother survived, which gained her her name for she was one who survived to see the morning sun. She grew up quickly in the pride, learning to survive on her own and to forcefully take what was needed, else she would never get her share, especially as one of the smaller lions. The pride’s lifestyle was very demanding, and Khepri’s mother taught her from an early age she had to be quicker and cleverer than her opponents to survive. Cubhood for Khepri had little room for mistakes, and her body is covered in small scars to prove it. Surviving past the first year was a major accomplishment, and that’s really what life was like for Khepri -- surviving. She had a few friends, with the term being a stretch, but was always a bit distrusting, suspicious of everyone’s motives. Her mother was the only one she looked up to and let herself trust, and any show of affection from Khepri was more than not only for her mother.
By the time Khepri grew into adolescence, her father long since run out by the bigger lion who declared himself king of their mangy pride and while they made their home in the Desertlands, a storm brought on a violent change. A small band of rogues looking for trouble met up with Khepri’s small pride, and immediately communications broke down and cast the two small groups into a bloody battle. Her mother was struck down by a large rogue with a black mane. Those of her pride that were not killed fled, wounds dripping, while half the rogue band was killed and the others left in their own bloody heap. Her dysfunctional family now split up, Khepri lingered in the area on her own for a few days to give her mother a proper passing, while trying to recover from her own wounds. However, lingering proved to be a bad idea as the rogue that had killed her mother had also stayed nearby. His bloodlust drove him to take advantage of Khepri while she was weak physically and emotionally, leaving the young lioness even more broken and watering the seed of bitterness that had been planted in her at a young age. Even though Khepri fought back viciously, it wasn’t enough to rid herself of the larger lion, who left soon after his desire was sated. Luckily, no cubs were conceived, but that came as little comfort to Khepri who had lost too much in that short time. The world was darker then it had ever been for the young lioness, and the lessons of survival taught to her from early on took over, only managing to fan her simmering anger.
Once she left the site of the attack, she wandered on her own for a short time, snarling threats at anything that came in sight of her. It was in neutral territory, when the lioness was a few months past two years old, that she ran into Korofi, a rogue spy for Scar who seemed to find her threats laughable. But their sour, violent personalities meshed well, Khepri standing strong and refusing to let another take advantage of her. They managed to get along surprisingly well, so Korofi led her back to Pride Rock, seeing potential in the lioness as a fellow spy for Scar.
Unallied, Khepri doesn’t really care about the politics between the prides, but decided to take up the position as it gave her the safety of others and an informational web. Most of the Pridelanders stay far away from her, mothers keeping their cubs as far as possible, seeing how unstable the coffee-colored lioness is. Her mental state is sometimes in question, but no one has confronted her about this outright. But she cares little for such treatment, not seeking to fit in and rather enjoying the fact that the lionesses seem wary of her.
Bitterness and the desire for vengeance still have a tight hold over Khepri’s heart and mind, and she plans to track down the lion who had killed her mother and kill him herself, using her place as Scar’s spy to gather intel on the surrounding areas and lions. While she works for Scar, her allegiances lie with only one: herself.
