Appearance: With the same shade of tawny pelt, Wiana is the cub that most resembles her mother Duara. The main difference between mother and daughter is Wiana’s underbelly and chin, which are a lighter shade of tan rather than chocolate brown. All four of the younger lioness’ paws are the same hue as her mother’s underbelly and paws. Wiana’s eyes are alert, a bright aqua color, suggesting a quiet intelligence hidden by the enthusiasm and playfulness of youth. Her cheeks are especially furry but her mothers keep her well groomed, and Wiana's pleasant attitude lends to an overall calm demeanor that fits the serene lifestyle of the Lowlanders. As a cub, she is well-fed and healthy, and she will grow into an above-average sized lioness when she reaches maturity: tall, muscular, and perfect posture due to her royal upbringing. Naturally a tomboy, Wiana is not known for her gracefulness; in fact, she is rather clumsy, but that is because she is so athletic and strong. Wiana is definitely not the delicate, helpless princess type.

Personality: Wiana has energy to spare, and is ready and willing to prove that she is just as strong as any boy or girl cub alive. She isn’t necessarily competitive, but she is proud and hates for anyone to see her as being weak or incapable. She likes to be the fastest racer, the best fisher; whatever the sport, Wiana likes to win. She would never cheat though. If defeated, she will work twice as hard to improve herself. Even as she grows and matures, she will maintain a child-like ebullience that can be infectious for some, but annoying to others with a less positive outlook. From a young age, Wiana is reasonable by nature, and fair in her regards for others. She believes everyone deserves a chance, and will root for and encourage those who think themselves less than capable. She sees the best in everyone, which could lead to trouble down the line, because she may not be the best judge of character. Her childhood will be rather sheltered, protected in the paradise of her mothers’ territory in the jungle.

More than anything else, Wiana loves her mothers and her sisters, as well as the other members of the Lowlands pride. She is fiercely protective of them, but since she is born during a time of peace, she does not realize the dangers of the mysterious unknown and of wars. Highly imaginative and playful, Wiana is an upbeat, friendly lioness who enjoys the simple pleasures of life, as well as the serenity of the jungle. She will demonstrate strong leadership traits, and she hates to be told what to do, like any stubborn child. Wiana does not expect to inherit the throne in the future since she is the youngest of her sisters and gives little thought to the possibility of being queen someday.

Family: Duara (biological mother), Nyota (mother), Nyima (sister), Dyota (sister)
History: Deep in the jungle, the two queens of the Lowlands had decided that their heir would benefit from additions to their small family. Princess Nyima was nearly full grown by this time. It was decided, after some debate, that Duara would give birth to the couple’s next litter, since Nyota had already gone through the experience and did not care to repeat it. A lion was carefully selected, a friend of the pride but not a Lowlander himself, and Duara soon produced a litter of two: both were girls, and both were considered princesses of the Lowlands. If something were to happen to Nyima, or if she decided she did not want the throne in the future, the jungle would have other rulers to lead.

Wiana considers Nyota and Nyima to be her family, regardless of the blood that flows through her veins. They are all equal and related in her eyes, even if they do not share the same blood. She understands that her family is somehow different because they are considered regal, and because there is no father present, but this doesn’t matter to Wiana. She is a normal cub with a regular life, as far as she is concerned.
